«Andreuccio da Perugia comes to Naples to buy horses, meets with three serious adventures in one night, completes each of them safely, and returns home with a ruby.»

The fifth novel of the second day of Giovanni Boccaccio's Decameron opens the La lieta brigata project as the first episode of the #Quarantameron installment, which aims at the "translation" of the stories of the 14th century Florentine masterpiece into playable adventures for 5e.

La lieta brigata [the merry band] was born in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, from a moral need to contribute in some way to a lightening of the moment. For this reason, the name was borrowed from the narrators of the Decameron. Just as they were strengthened in a difficult time by the power of stories, we wished to work on materials that could have been used for similarly positive experiences of interaction.

The project is written and edited by Giovanni Giamboni (as a dungeon master) and Valentina Rovere (as a philologist), more information on the project is available in the first part of the pdf and on our official Instagram (@lieta_brigata), Twitter (@lieta_brigata) and Facebook (La lieta brigata).

In these early stages of the project, La lieta brigata is experimental. We invite you to get in touch with us for any type of feedback regarding any part of the project. You can write to us at info.lalietabrigata@gmail.com or contact us through our social pages.
